Hyper Acidity Causes and Cure

Stomach acidity or hyperacidity conditions are a common problem. Ask the person sitting right beside you in a bus if he had experienced bouts of acidity attacks. Chances are great that he or she would answer you with a big YES. Why is this so?
Our stomach produces acid to digest the food that we eat. This is a regular and natural process. Whenever we eat, cells within the lining of the stomach pump acid to liquefy your sumptuous dinner, from mash potatoes to a slab of steak.
Problem occurs when these cells produce large amount of acid, more than your stomach needs. When this happens, you will suffer from stomach acidity. You would know if you were suffering from stomach acidity if you feel a burning sensation just above the stomach, or right below (the hollow part) your breastbone. This is the most classic sign of acidity. Other people experience acid regurgitation. This happens when you are lying horizontal on your bed. You may have a sour taste in your mouth, which resembles the taste of an orange puree that had gone stale. Acid regurgitation oftentimes results to heartburn, or that pain near the heart area.
Causes of Hyperacidity
Most of the times, acidity is not caused by a serious medical condition. A person experiences attacks of acidity a few times in a year or at times even just once in a year. Sudden onset of acidity is usually triggered by foods that you eat. Fatty and spicy foods are harder to digest than most food; this, in effect, prompts the cells that pump acid to produce more acid than is necessary.
Sudden onset of stomach acidity is also known as acute stomach acidity attack. This can easily be cured by taking over-the-counter (OTC) antacids to relieve the stomach from pain.
However, there are acidity conditions that persist. This is more known as a chronic acidity condition. Stress and underlying medical conditions are usually the cause of chronic stomach acidity.
Diseases the May Cause Hyperacidity
GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)
GERD is a chronic disease that inflicts people with stomach acidity. It is called a ‘reflux’ because gastric acid goes from the stomach up to the esophagus whenever a person with stomach acidity lies down to bed. At times, even mere change in position causes the gastric acid to reflux. This disease is more known to many as heartburn. A person with GERD feels a stabbing like pain near his heart area.
Heartburn is not a heart disease. The condition is called as such because the pain seemed to originate from the heart. Heartburn occurs whenever gastric acid goes up to the esophagus. The acid gives a burning sensation in the lining of the esophagus and its surrounding area (of which include the area near the heart).
HELICOBACTER PYLORI
There had been a time when smoking, certain foods and stress were regarded as the cause of ulcers, both gastric and duodenal. However, even after these stressors have been removed out of the picture, stomach ulcers persist.
It was discovered only recently that the cause for the stomach to release pepsin, or an acidic enzyme that causes ulcers, is a bacteria, the Helicobater Pylori or H. Pylori.
H. Pylori promotes the production of excess stomach acid, which in effect burns the lining of the stomach (for gastric ulcer) or duodenum (for duodenal ulcer) and creates ulcers and even holes (or perforation) when left untreated.
ZOLLINGER-ELLISON SYNDROME
They eat healthy foods, avoid smoking, and don’t have H. Pylori living inside of their stomach; but still, they suffer from stomach acidity. What’s the reason behind this?
There are people who are, unfortunately, born to be hyper acidic. This is known as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. With this disease, a person has a large quantity of gastrin in his body, a hormone responsible for the production of gastric juices in the stomach. Gastrin stimulates the cells to pump acid even when it is not needed.
HYPERCALCEMIA
Increase in the level of calcium in the body can lead to stomach acidity. This condition is known as hypercalcemia. There are various medical conditions that can cause hypercalcemia. A patient may have parathyroid problems or metabolic disorders (calcium is not absorbed fully by the body). Also, it may be that a patient has renal failure (the body has difficulty excreting excess calcium out of the body) or malignant tumors.
GALLSTONES
Gallstones are pebble-like deposits in the gallbladder. Gallbladder contains bile which is responsible for stabilizing gastric acid in the body. However, with gallstones, the gallbladder cannot function well. Bile cannot flow to some important organs in the body, including the duodenum. With this, excess gastric acid stay in the stomach.
There are many medical treatments available today for stomach acidity. Not all, however, were established to be effective. That is why, homeopathic treatment is also available that also considers the psychological balancing of the patient. Usually, using both the conventional and the homeopathic treatment proves to be effective in treating stomach acidity.
Treatments
There are medical treatments available for people who are suffering from stomach acidity. One, and the most popular way, is by taking antacids that can be bought over-the-counter. For those who are suffering from complications brought about by stomach acidity (such as ulcer and GERD), doctors prescribe medicine such asRanitidineLansoprazole or Omeprazole to treat hyperacidity. These medicines are used together with antibiotics to treat H. Pylori in case of ulcers.

Aside from the rubber thing with the brand name as what is asked from above, here are some definitions

1. reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
2. confident expectation of something; hope.
3. confidence in the certainty of future payment for prop

Over all, "Trust" is earned, not demanded, asked or enforced.

Those opinions and definition are real..big thanks to all my friends  for  sharing it,

WHAT IS TRUST?
Trust is a major part in the foundation of interpersonal relationships, whether it is between parents and children, friends, or lovers. It is just as easy to build trust as it is to break it down on a daily basis. If your interpersonal relationships are plagued by that deadly element called "suspicion, and fear " then you might find success if you put effort toward trust-building. Trust is heart warming, a great attribute often abused and broken by many. We learn to trust, as we learn to love. If trust comes by so easily, it is also lost and destroyed by a single moment of breaking and in a fraction of a second, all hope and security can be lost.
HOW TO BUILD TRUST.

Steps

  1. 1
Do What You say. Possibly the most important step to building a foundation of trust is to do what you say you will do. At least try doing it. Even if it is a small thing, canceling or failing to follow through will create hairline fractures in your trustworthiness. Enough of those, and the foundation will crumble.
    2
  2. Never Lie. Sounds easy, right? Not always. It's surprisingly simple to find yourself saying a little white lie to protect your friend, lover, or even your parents. But if you tell the truth even when the truth isn't perfectly pleasant, you will become much more trustworthy. Kind of a no-brainer, right? If you never lie, people will sense that and you will be much more loved and appreciated for your honesty.
  3. 3
Volunteer information. When an opportunity to be vague arises, don't take it. Volunteer information to your listener to prove that you have nothing to hide.

Example of breaking down trust: "How did the meeting with the lawyer go?" "It went fine."

Example of building trust: "How did the meeting with the lawyer go?" "It went fine. The whole day was stressful, getting all the documentation together, and we barely made it on time. But we both signed and he said it would get mailed out tomorrow."

You aren't saying anything different—the meeting with the lawyer went fine—but by volunteering information, you are proving that you have nothing to hide.
  4. 4
Don't omit important details. The main reason it is best not to omit important details is because it is hard to keep up with a string of omissions. People will start to notice contradictions in your stories and you will be considered a liar, even if you are only omittinga little! Tell people things they need or want to know, if you begin to provide reliable information they will trust you.
  5. 5
If you do have secrets, let it be known. You shouldn't be forced to give up your most personal feelings and secrets just to be trustworthy. Everyone is entitled to privacy. But the key to being trustworthy while also maintaining your privacy is to make the boundary clear.

Example: "I am not ready to share my feelings on my ex-wife right now, but I promise you have nothing to worry about."

This gives your listener a chance to prove he/she is understanding and patient, but most importantly, it gives your listener a sense of security. Even if they don't like being shut out, they know that you will eventually divulge. Pretending the secret completely doesn't exist will leak out unintentionally, and simply make them suspicious.
  6. 6
Don't mask truths. An off-shoot of "Never lie" is never to mask truths. Sometimes it seems harmless to "morph" the truth into something more palatable to preserve your ego.

For example, a man not admitting that he's broke that weekend may instead claim that he lost his credit card. The loss of a credit card is a harmless possibility, but the risk of the truth emerging (or the risk of your listener perceiving the lie) will fracture trust. Tell the truth no matter the cost.
  7. 7
Keep Secret. No gossip allowed. Never blab someone else's story. Enough said. You can only trust people who are discreet and those who can keep the same silences or protect your confidences.
  8. 8
If You Do Lie.Admit to it. Sometimes it feels unavoidable to lie. It is best to confess to your lie as soon as possible and explain your motives. If you get caught, don't deny it. That is simply another lie.
  9. 9
Speak your feelings. People who only convey hard facts come across as cold and distant.
  10. 10
Tell the truth. If being honest and truthful is critical, you must be seen as someone who speaks the truth.
  11. 11
Honor your promises. Trust requires that people believe you are dependable.
  12. 12
Show openness. This implies relying on a person to give you the full truth. Mistrust comes as much from what people know, including what they do not know.
  13. 13
Show consistency in your behavior. This relates to your reliability and predictability. It also determines your ability and good judgement in handling situations. Display loyalty. This refers to your ability to protect others, to be on same side, in their presence but most importantly in their absence.
  14. 14
Do not break promises, however small and insignificant they may seem. Trust requires that people know you are dependable.
  15. 15
Be competent. Gain the respect and admiration of others by displaying adequate interpersonal or professional ability.
  16. 16
Demonstrate a strong moral ethic. This is particularly important in relationships. The other must feel confident that you will not falter or show betrayal in any form, when away from the other. People must not doubt your ability to be true or dedicated.
  17. 17
Be neutral when placed in difficult predicaments. Do not choose sides until you make certain that you know the hard facts.
  18. 18
Aim to be objective and show fairness. When making decisions or taking actions consider how others may perceive this in terms of objectivity and fairness.
  19. 19
Do not display double standards. Show consistency in your behavior.

Tips on how to avoid dehydration and heat stroke

Dehydration and Heat Stroke

The danger of dehydration and heat stroke:
Dehydration and heat stroke are two very common heat-related diseases that can be life-threatening if left untreated.
What is dehydration?
Dehydration can be a serious heat-related disease, as well as being a dangerous side-effect of diarrhea, vomiting and fever. Children and persons over the age of 60 are particularly susceptible to dehydration.
What causes dehydration?
Under normal conditions, we all lose body water daily through sweat, tears, urine and stool. In a healthy person, this water is replaced by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water. When a person becomes so sick with fever, diarrhea, or vomiting or if an individual is overexposed to the sun, dehydration occurs. This is caused when the body loses water content and essential body salts such as sodium, potassium, calcium bicarbonate and phosphate.
Occasionally, dehydration can be caused by drugs, such as diuretics, which deplete body fluids and electrolytes. Whatever the cause, dehydration should be treated as soon as possible.
What are the symptoms of dehydration?
The following are the most common symptoms of dehydration, although each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:
  • thirst
  • less-frequent urination
  • dry skin
  • fatigue
  • light-headedness
  • dizziness
  • confusion
  • dry mouth and mucous membranes
  • increased heart rate and breathing
In children, additional symptoms may include:
  • dry mouth and tongue
  • no tears when crying
  • no wet diapers for more than 3 hours
  • sunken abdomen, eyes or cheeks
  • high fever
  • listlessness
  • irritability
  • skin that does not flatten when pinched and released
Treatment for dehydration:
If caught early, dehydration can often be treated at home under a physician's guidance. In children, directions for giving food and fluids will differ according to the cause of the dehydration, so it is important to consult your pediatrician.
In cases of mild dehydration, simple rehydration is recommended by drinking fluids. Many sports drinks on the market effectively restore body fluids, electrolytes, and salt balance.
For moderate dehydration, intravenous fluids may be required, although if caught early enough, simple rehydration may be effective. Cases of serious dehydration should be treated as a medical emergency, and hospitalization, along with intravenous fluids, is necessary. Immediate action should be taken.
How can dehydration be prevented?
Take precautionary measures to avoid the harmful effects of dehydration, including:
  • Drink plenty of fluids, especially when working or playing in the sun.
  • Make sure you are taking in more fluid than you are losing.
  • Try to schedule physical outdoor activities for the cooler parts of the day.
  • Drink appropriate sports drinks to help maintain electrolyte balance.
  • For infants and young children, solutions like Pedialyte will help maintain electrolyte balance during illness or heat exposure. Do not try to make fluid and salt solutions at home for children.
What is heat stroke?
Heat stroke is the most severe form of heat illness and is a life-threatening emergency. It is the result of long, extreme exposure to the sun, in which a person does not sweat enough to lower body temperature. The elderly, infants, persons who work outdoors and those on certain types of medications are most susceptible to heat stroke. It is a condition that develops rapidly and requires immediate medical treatment.
What causes heat stroke?
Our bodies produce a tremendous amount of internal heat and we normally cool ourselves by sweating and radiating heat through the skin. However, in certain circumstances, such as extreme heat, high humidity or vigorous activity in the hot sun, this cooling system may begin to fail, allowing heat to build up to dangerous levels.
If a person becomes dehydrated and can not sweat enough to cool their body, their internal temperature may rise to dangerously high levels, causing heat stroke.
What are the symptoms of heat stroke?
The following are the most common symptoms of heat stroke, although each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:
  • headache
  • dizziness
  • disorientation, agitation or confusion
  • sluggishness or fatigue
  • seizure
  • hot, dry skin that is flushed but not sweaty
  • a high body temperature
  • loss of consciousness
  • rapid heart beat
  • hallucinations
How is heat stroke treated?
It is important for the person to be treated immediately as heat stroke can cause permanent damage or death. There are some immediate first aid measures you can take while waiting for help to arrive.
  • Get the person indoors.
  • Remove clothing and gently apply cool water to the skin followed by fanning to stimulate sweating.
  • Apply ice packs to the groin and armpits.
  • Have the person lie down in a cool area with their feet slightly elevated
Intravenous fluids are often necessary to compensate for fluid or electrolyte loss. Bed rest is generally advised and body temperature may fluctuate abnormally for weeks after heat stroke.
How can heat stroke be prevented?
There are precautions that can help protect you against the adverse effects of heat stroke. These include:
  • Drink plenty of fluids during outdoor activities, especially on hot days. Water and sports drinks are the drinks of choice; avoid tea, coffee, soda and alcohol as these can lead to dehydration.
  • Wear lightweight, tightly woven, loose-fitting clothing in light colors.
  • Schedule vigorous activity and sports for cooler times of the day.
  • Protect yourself from the sun by wearing a hat, sunglasses and using an umbrella.
  • Increase time spent outdoors gradually to get your body used to the heat.
  • During outdoor activities, take frequent drink breaks and mist yourself with a spray bottle to avoid becoming overheated.
  • Try to spend as much time indoors as possible on very hot and humid days.
If you live in a hot climate and have a chronic condition, talk to your physician about extra precautions you can take to protect yourself against heat stroke.

10 Reasons to Say "I Love You"

Just three little words can mean the whole world to someone. As a relationship matures, you may start to forget to say, "I love you" as you get stuck in the routines of daily life. Telling someone you love him often helps you maintain your close bonds over time. Use the words liberally.

1. Love

Of course, the best reason to say, "I love you" is because you really love the person. You may find there are times in your life when you're reminded of this for some particular reason and just want to blurt out the words.
2. Reassurance
Hearing the words often allows the other person to feel reassured that you really do love him and are thinking about him, even though you may get caught up in other things. If a person goes too long without hearing that you love him, he may start to fear that you don't.
3. Because You Can
Express your love freely because you never know when you may not have the chance to do it again. Your world can change in a heartbeat and you may never have a moment like this again.
4. Security
Hearing the words, "I love you" can make a person feel more secure in the relationship. He will know your feelings and where he stands.
5. To Get Some
Admit it--it's been awhile since you and your honey last got together. Reminding him that you do love him can help him feel closer to you, which may open the door to a bit of hanky-panky.
6. To Hear It Back
When you say, "I love you," most often you're going to hear it back. If you've been feeling a bit lonely and withdrawn--even though you're in a relationship--saying the words will almost guarantee that you'll hear them back. This can make you feel better about yourself and your position in the relationship.
7. It's Unconditional
When you're having a disagreement with someone, it helps to say "I love you" just to remind the other person that you do really love her, even though you may be arguing. This is particularly true when you're talking about your children.
8. Protection
When others are attacking your honey, for whatever reason, it can feel like everyone is against him. When you say "I love you," you can protect him from the sting of these attacks and show others that you are a united front.
9. Pride
When your husband has met some great accomplishment, such as a promotion at work or losing 10 pounds, you naturally feel proud that you are his wife. Telling him that you love him can show him this pride.
10. That Spider Isn't Going to Kill Itself
Face it--sometimes, you say "I love you" because it's going to get you what you want. He might do the dishes, run out to the store at 3 a.m. to buy you ice cream during your third trimester and even kill that huge scary spider in the corner. It's not pretty, but it works, so don't be ashamed to use this from time to time.

Walnuts Are the Best Food for the Heart

A recent study discovered that walnuts are the most wholesome food that can keep theheart healthy. A report delivered at the 241st national meeting of the American Chemical Society revealed that walnuts possess a combination of the healthiest and best qualityantioxidants than any other sort of nuts. The antioxidants found in walnuts are from 2 to 15 times stronger.
Nuts contain polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats that, unlike saturated fats, don’t cause arterial occlusion. As regards calories, nuts are known not to make people feel sated and overeat less; they are not conducive to putting on weight. On the contrary, nut intake is linked with a significantly lower risk of becoming obese.
Still, one ought to keep within limits. Researcher Dr. Joe Vinson said that 7 walnuts a day are quite enough to support your health.

17 Easy Confidence Builders

Self-confidence is even sexier than a push-up bra. Clothes, jewels, cars, and cash are great, but self-confidence is the ultimate accessory. People are drawn to those who project confidence, and most of us fall somewhere in between social divas and wallflowers. Even the most self-assured need occasional boosts to their self-esteem. It doesn’t take much to make a big difference.
According to a University of California study, women who spend more time on their appearance than on other things are less confident and less happy. The more tweaks we make from the inside out, the better we become at anything, confidence included.
1. Stop looking in every mirror you pass. The way to build self-confidence is from the inside out. To get the best picture of ourselves, we learn more by looking within than by looking in a mirror.
2. Don’t apologize. Unless you’ve done something really bad, try NOT saying “I’m sorry” for 24 hours. People who say it with regularity usually convey insecurity.
3. Make a decision and go with it. Over-analyzing every potential choice or outcome can paralyze you. The first step is usually the hardest.
4. Imagine success. Experts say that being able to picture ourselves completing a task successfully makes us more likely to actually do it.
5. Straighten up. According to a recent study at Ohio University, hunching over makes us less likely to think positive thoughts about ourselves.
6. Get dressed. Looking your best everyday says a lot about how you feel about yourself. Even if you aren’t lunching with the Queen, don’t leave the house looking like you just finished cleaning out the garage.
7. Don’t overreact to mistakes. We are our own worst critics. Our gaffes are far worse in our minds than in anyone else’s. Besides, people can be surprisingly forgiving.
8. Assume people like you. Most of them probably do anyway, and it makes it easier to socialize.
9. Talk to strangers wherever you go. It’ll make you feel good about yourself, and it’s a great way to hone your social skills.
10. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. It’s a downer. We don’t need to be the most beautiful, the richest or the best dressed. We just need to be our sparkling selves.
11. Take a compliment. When someone offers praise accept it graciously. No arguing and no false humility.
12. Stop eating junk. The instant gratification provided by M & M’s, cupcakes, and cocktails is over all too quickly. Occasional indulgences aside, sugary high-fat treats can instantly become mood wreckers, diet busters, and hangovers. None of which makes us feel good.
13. Think young. A Purdue University study found that people who maintained a sense of youthfulness were more likely to have greater confidence about their abilities years later.
14. Own the room. Some people behave as if they have no right to the space they occupy. Put a little strut into your walk. Move like you have a purpose.
15. Watch your hands. Keeping your hands apart and palms open makes you appear open and honest. Bringing your hands closer together draws emphasis to what you’re saying.  Gesturing like a drum major (if you’re not one), makes you appear nervous and unstable.
16. Be grateful. Remind yourself what’s important, appreciate what you have, and remember to thank others.
17. Make eye contact. It’s a habit of confident people.
